2. Summary

This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking tools and loads no content from third-party servers (fonts are hosted on our own server). Personal data is only processed when you visit the site (server log files), when you buy (via Payhip and Stripe) and when you email us.

3. Hosting and server log files

The website is hosted by Namecheap, Inc., 4600 East Washington Street, Suite 300, Phoenix, AZ 85034, USA. When you visit, the server automatically processes data sent by your browser: IP address, date and time, page requested, referrer URL, browser and operating system. This is technically necessary to deliver the website and keep it secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Log files are kept by the host for a limited period only and then deleted automatically. Namecheap is based in the USA; transfers to the USA are based on appropriate safeguards, in particular the EU Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46 GDPR).

4. Buying the e-books (Payhip and Stripe)

When you click “Buy now” you are taken to the checkout of Payhip Limited, 1st Floor, 2 Woodberry Grove, London, N12 0DR, United Kingdom. Payhip processes the data required for the purchase (e.g. name, email address, billing country, IP address, products bought), delivers the download and calculates statutory VAT. Payment is processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Limited, 1 Grand Canal Street Lower, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin, D02 H210, Ireland; card details are handled directly by Stripe and never seen by us.

The legal basis is performance of the purchase contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and statutory retention obligations (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR). We receive your name, email address and order details from Payhip and keep them as long as tax and commercial law require. The privacy policies of Payhip and Stripe also apply. Payhip is based in the United Kingdom, which has an EU adequacy decision.

5. Contact by email

If you email us, we process your details to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR) and delete them when no longer needed and no retention obligations apply.

6. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR). Just email the address above.

You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU country where you live. The authority responsible for us is the French Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL), 3 Place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, www.cnil.fr.

7. SSL/TLS encryption

This website uses SSL/TLS encryption, recognisable by “https://” in the address bar.
